Job Description
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is appointing a Library Technician (Reference Number 26-968-06-116) to support its open-source library services in Ottawa. The role covers acquisitions, cataloguing and serials management: analyzing and cataloging materials to library and CSIS standards, evaluating and processing acquisitions from suppliers, reconciling expenditures and coding transactions, maintaining circulation and serial control records, and helping clients with reference support, loans and renewals. The holder also develops and maintains procedures and mentors colleagues. Candidates need a college or university diploma in Library Science or Information Science and two years of relevant experience working with records, data and publications, in a client service environment, and using an integrated library system or records management system. Asset qualifications include experience as a library or information technician and in cataloguing, database management or acquisition. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and eligible for an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance. Job type: Indeterminate (permanent). Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
