Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council is appointing two Legal Officers to join the Education, Employment and Prosecutions Team within Legal Services (job reference 1095/3868). The posts focus on providing support to the team’s Education Lawyer(s) and Trainee Solicitor in respect of Special Educational Needs Tribunals, and the successful candidates will also assist other lawyers in the team as and when required. Duties are varied and include maintaining the legal files to a high standard, obtaining documents relevant for appeals, preparing the bundles for final hearings, and dealing with members of the public and legal professionals. The ideal candidates will bring a good level of skill and expertise from within an office environment, good customer service and interpersonal skills, and confidence in the use of various computer applications. Candidates should have an interest in the legal sector, particularly the law of education, and be highly organised, flexible and focused team players who can apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively. Full training will be provided. Job type: Permanent, two positions available, 37 hours per week, Lincoln/hybrid (minimum 1 day per week based in the council’s newly refurbished offices in Lincoln). Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom. Salary: £26,846 – £28,153 per annum, as stated on the posting. Closing date: 9 November 2026 (applications close at midnight).
