Job Description

City & Guilds of London Art School, an independent higher education provider with a 170-year history of specialist education in fine art and craft, is appointing an IT Support Technician (0.8 FTE) to join its team, reporting to the IT Manager. The post-holder will provide first- and second-line IT support to staff and students in person, by email and by phone: supporting users with software and online portals, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining and updating computers, patching Office and open-access computers, performing fresh installs on new hardware, monitoring system status and performance, and providing basic audiovisual support in teaching spaces. Additional duties include onboarding new members of staff, creating user-facing support documentation, and optimising existing processes and procedures in collaboration with the IT Manager. Applicants need at least two years’ experience providing first- and second-line IT support, excellent knowledge of Mac and Windows desktop environments, experience with Active Directory or an equivalent identity management platform, and strong communication, troubleshooting and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload; experience of providing IT support in an educational setting is an advantage. Job type: Part-time, 0.8 FTE, Monday to Thursday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm. Location: City & Guilds of London Art School, London, England, United Kingdom. Salary: £30,000 per annum (£24,000 pro rata), as stated on the posting. Application submission deadline: Friday 6 November 2026, 12 noon.
