Job Description
The Bank of Canada is appointing a Senior AI Platform Specialist (Requisition 11850) to take a central role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence at Canada’s central bank, working from its Ottawa (Downtown) office under a hybrid work model. The role sits with the team that helps the organization maximize the value of Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric and related technologies. The specialist will design, build and enhance business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Fabric; partner with business teams to turn ideas and requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions; deliver end-to-end solutions including automation, AI agents, analytics and data-driven applications; support and coach makers, developers and business teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting; act as a trusted advisor on the right platform and architecture for new initiatives; collaborate with architects, developers, analysts and stakeholders to align solutions with enterprise direction; contribute to platform enablement through reusable patterns, documentation and governance guidance; and evaluate emerging capabilities across Power Platform, Copilot Studio and Fabric. Candidates need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered), with hands-on experience developing solutions using Power Apps and related Microsoft cloud technologies, including Power BI and Azure integration, plus strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of solution architecture, integration patterns, APIs, data modelling and enterprise applications. Nice-to-have strengths include Azure infrastructure skills, knowledge of AI solution design patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation, and experience with governance, security, compliance, DevOps and CI/CD. Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, and the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
