Job Description

Grafana Labs is hiring a Revenue Accounting Manager to join its Finance team. This is a remote role based in the United States. Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, the fully managed observability platform trusted by businesses around the world, and is a remote-only company with a global culture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts, including subscription and usage-based revenue
  • Review non-standard contract terms and prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, AI and other tools to streamline revenue processes
  • Perform and review monthly accounting close activities and deliverables for revenue, including journal entries
  • Translate ASC 606 conclusions into system configuration, and manage and enhance revenue automation
  • Execute and continuously improve month-end close accuracy and timeliness
  • Support the financial reporting process by preparing quality and audit-ready supporting schedules
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, DealOps and Billing to evaluate deal structures and resolve revenue issues
  • Assist with assessing the revenue implications of new products, pricing changes and go-to-market models
  • Design, maintain and test SOX compliant internal controls over revenue
  • Be a key partner for external auditors, providing audit-ready documentation and support for quarterly reviews
  • Use SQL, Python or advanced Excel to analyze large data sets, find root causes and surface trends

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or SaaS/technology company
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606, including usage-based or consumption-based revenue models
  • Experience with revenue automation tools and ERP/CRM systems (for example NetSuite ARM, Zone Billing, Salesforce)
  • Working knowledge of Claude, Codex, SQL, Python, BigQuery or advanced Excel functionalities preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing process improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross-functional stakeholders

Salary: In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is $120,000 – $145,000. Compensation ranges are country specific.
