What it covers
- Full payment of academic fees (UK or international)
- A tax-free maintenance stipend
- Full- or part-time study options (part-time at 60%)
- Up to 8 weeks annual leave per year
- Chancellor’s streams additionally include: UKRI-rate stipend for 3.5 years; £5,000 Research Training and Support Grant (RTSG); paid family and medical leave; for eligible international applicants, the opportunity to apply for support towards UK visa and immigration costs
Who is eligible
- Applicants for an eligible Postgraduate Research Course beginning October 2027 (PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD, and the PhD stage of a Masters+PhD course)
- Chancellor’s streams: any nationality or fee status
- Current postgraduate research students are not eligible
- Scholarships cannot be deferred
