Job Description
Al Jazeera Academy, a member of the Ta’allum Group of Schools, is seeking an inspirational Head of Humanities to join the staff team at its successful and improving Secondary School, with an immediate start. The Ta’allum Group is a growing and successful organisation of three schools in Qatar, and Al Jazeera Academy serves almost 1,800 students from kindergarten through Year 12, following an adapted version of the English National Curriculum. The Academy holds current Qatar National Schools Accreditation and was recently accredited with the Council of International Schools, and it underpins its whole curriculum with the best Islamic values.
The Humanities curriculum includes History, Geography, Travel and Tourism and Global Perspectives, and Business Studies and Economics are also offered. The successful candidate will lead the Humanities department, bringing the right blend of experience, creativity and professional expertise to drive teaching and learning in the subject area, within a school that offers a unique cultural experience in Doha.
The salary and benefits package includes a competitive tax-free salary, depending upon qualifications and experience, a fully furnished apartment (as per family size) with paid utilities, a joining and repatriation ticket, a yearly annual return ticket, medical insurance, visa and residency, private medical insurance for self and two nominated dependents, free schooling at Ta’allum Group Schools for two nominated dependents, and an end of service benefit gratuity of 21 days of basic salary as per Qatar Labor law. Applications are considered through online interviews on Zoom, and the school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Applications close on 30 January 2027.
