Job Description

Mesaieed International School is a not-for-profit, non-selective community school owned and operated by QatarEnergy, situated at the heart of a kind and welcoming community in Mesaieed, Qatar, and operating across three campuses. The school is seeking an inspirational, intellectually curious and highly effective Deputy Headteacher – Teaching, Learning & Professional Development, to start in August 2027. The successful candidate will lead an approach to teaching and learning founded upon professional development rather than monitoring, lead quality assurance and evaluation, and build a professional culture that inspires teachers and leaders. The role also covers strategic leadership alongside the Head of Secondary and the senior leadership team, professional development and instructional coaching, leadership development, curriculum and assessment, adaptive teaching and inclusion, professional networks and partnerships, external professional learning, and research and professional culture.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a compelling vision for exceptional teaching and professional learning, deep expertise in teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment, a proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teachers and leaders, expertise in professional development, instructional coaching and deliberate practice, a highly effective approach to quality assurance and school evaluation, and a strong commitment to inclusive and adaptive teaching. The post requires Qualified Teacher Status, a recognised teaching qualification or equivalent, with significant and successful senior or substantial middle leadership experience.
