Job Description

The English School (TES), Kuwait, a non-profit, independent British curriculum school, is seeking an outstanding Head of Pre-Prep to lead its Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 for Academic Year 2027/28. TES is a leading British curriculum school in Kuwait catering for children aged 3 to 16, with approximately 785 pupils representing over 50 nationalities, following the EYFS and the English National Curriculum. The school is accredited by ISI and affiliated with BSME, COBIS, AoBSO and IAPS, and its Salmiya campus features a Science and Technology block, a Performing Arts Centre, a refurbished gym and a 25-metre pool.

The Head of Pre-Prep leads with vision and professionalism, ensuring the smooth running of daily routines in the Pre-Prep section. Core responsibilities include strategic leadership and vision, teaching, learning and curriculum oversight for EYFS and KS1, pupil admissions and progress, student wellbeing, development and behaviour, staff leadership and professional growth through CPD and performance review, operational management and administration, and communication and parent engagement.

Candidates should offer Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent British-recognised teaching qualification with specialism in early years, a proven track record in senior or middle leadership within a British independent pre-prep, primary or preparatory school, deep knowledge of the EYFS framework and the Key Stage 1 curriculum, modern play-based and foundational pedagogy, a dedicated focus on early childhood mental health, social-emotional wellbeing and safeguarding, and exemplary professionalism. The salary is KWD 2,150 to KWD 2,350 per month, with a package and benefits including a monthly accommodation allowance of 500 KWD, an annual air travel allowance of 220 KWD, and an education benefit of a 50% discount on school fees for dependants.
