Job Description

Raha International School, Khalifa City Campus, a renowned and well established leading International Baccalaureate Continuum School located in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Head of Secondary for August 2027. As part of Taaleem, one of the largest educational providers in the UAE, the school’s diverse community comprises over 90 nationalities, with over 40 mother tongues celebrated, and is committed to professional development and to inspiring young minds.

The core purpose of this role is to provide professional, highly effective leadership and management of the Secondary School. Key responsibilities include promoting Taaleem’s mission of inspiring young minds and its vision of being the most respected provider of education in the Gulf, promoting an inspiring vision dedicated to high standards that is shared by all members of the Secondary School, initiating, prioritising and leading Secondary School improvement activities through effective strategic leadership, displaying a high level of professional competence, communicating a clear view of the Secondary School’s aims, distributing leadership effectively to achieve high standards of learning and personal development, inspiring and empowering middle leaders, teachers and support staff, being receptive to external evaluation, working effectively with school governance teams including the School Advisory Committee and Parents Associations, and ensuring that student attainment and the quality of teaching align with the school’s vision.

Candidates should hold a teaching certification and a higher educational professional qualification, with 3 years of school management and leadership experience in a similar setting, preferably as a current Deputy Head. The successful candidate will show a passion for education, a strong understanding of best practices, current pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning, a proven ability to foster a positive, engaging and inclusive environment, and a values based, solution focused approach to leading others.
