Job Description
Quick Truck & Trailer Welding Ltd is hiring a Welder for permanent, full-time work based in Surrey, British Columbia. The role is on site, starts as soon as possible, and offers 39.00 dollars per hour for 40 hours per week, with two vacancies available. The work site environment is outdoors and the area of specialization is truck repair.
The Welder will interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and processes, and examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications. The role also involves operating flame-cutting, oxygen arc cutting, brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines, fitting, brazing and torch-straightening metal, determining the weldability of materials, operating hoisting and lifting equipment, and maintaining and performing minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Techniques used include resistance, spot or seam, oxy-acetylene, gas tungsten arc (TIG), flux core arc, electron beam, automated, electrogas, fusion, thermit, welding plastic, and brazing and soldering. Applicants need English, a secondary (high) school graduation certificate, 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, and basic security clearance. The work is physically demanding and involves handling heavy loads.
