Canelo Alvarez is a world champion again. In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Alvarez defeated Christian Mbilli by unanimous decision over 12 rounds to win the WBC super middleweight title that Mbilli had brought into the fight.
The bout marked Alvarez’s return after his September 2025 loss to Terence Crawford. Against Mbilli, the contest went the full distance, and the judges were in agreement on the winner when the scorecards were read.
The official scores were 115-112, 116-111 and 117-110, all for Canelo Alvarez. The result gives Alvarez the WBC super middleweight title and ends Mbilli’s reign as champion.
