Job Description

Permanent, full-time opportunities for experienced Registered Scrub Scout Nurses to join the theatre team at a 181-bed hospital in Brisbane City, on the fringe of the CBD. The hospital provides expert care in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, general surgery, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. You will provide exceptional care throughout patients’ procedures, aiming for optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care by following evidence-based practice, demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients within the theatre complex, integrating quality and risk management into daily activities, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining current knowledge and skills for continued professional development, and providing education and training assistance to other staff when applicable. Requirements: Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent; a minimum of two years’ experience as a Perioperative Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse; proven experience in ENT/Plastics, minor and major Orthopaedics or Neuro/Spinal surgery; registration with no restrictions with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA); compliance with ACQSHC National Standards; a Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing is highly desirable or being worked towards; sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills; ability to work in a fast paced environment; proven ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously.
