Job Description

Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant – Temporary is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the QA team. This entry-level position ensures assigned duties, to include document management (i.e. scanning, filing, tracking, routing), are completed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. The incumbent will also assist in audit preparation and supporting other QA activities.

NOTE: This is a temporary position which is expected to last up to twelve (12) months.

Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities include but are not limited to):

  • Format, proofread, and distribute documents using DocuSign (software) and/or eQMS
  • Support controlled document routing, training record updates, and change control tracking.
  • Maintain (including scanning) organized digital and physical filing systems; ensure version control and naming standards.
  • Convert forms, templates, and checklists to electronic/fillable format; collect signatures.
  • Support tracking of tasks, provide updates
  • Assist with audit/inspection readiness tasks (file pulls, index updates, room logistics).
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree and/or combination of education and relevant work related experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Prior experience using shared drives and e-signature tools is highly desirable.
  • A very high level of self-organization, attention to detail, follow-through and the ability to complete assigned duties in both an accurate and timely is imperative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong grammar and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • A high service orientation, ability to operate with discretion in handling confidential information and a team-focused approach are important in this role.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of microscopes, close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment:
Normal office environment with some exposure to laboratory and manufacturing areas. The role may also the occasional exposure to a bovine farm environment. The noise level in the working environment is usually moderate.

Travel:
While travel is not typically expected in this position, there may be a need to travel to SAB’s other office location in Sioux Falls on occasion.
