Job Description
Job Summary (List Format):
– Position: Customer Service Representative (Tax Compliance Call Center)
– Location: 100% Remote; must reside within 1 hour of Phoenix or Tucson, AZ
– Duration: Estimated 6 months, with possible extension; potential for permanent employment
– Work Hours: Flexible schedule, Monday Friday, 7:45am 5:15pm; intensive 3-week training, 8:30am 5pm (attendance critical)
– Start Date: Dependent on interviews, onboarding, and PO issuance; must be able to start within 2 weeks of offer
– Interview: Remote; must be available for in-person orientation on first day
– Duties:
– Answer inbound calls related to individual/business tax compliance and information requests in a fast-paced environment
– Resolve Tier 1 issues and review taxpayer accounts
– Verify, gather, and update key information simultaneously while on calls
– Educate taxpayers about online resources and current tax policies
– Submit requests for payment arrangements
– Document actions in multiple systems
– Participate in team engagement activities
– Meet defined performance expectations
– Skills Required:
– Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
– Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
– Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
– Effective verbal and written communication
– Excellent interpersonal skills
– Ability to retain knowledge and solve problems creatively
– Goal-oriented mindset
– Experience Required:
– At least 1 year of recent full-time experience in a fast-paced call center (not switchboard/dispatch)
– Previous two positions must each be at least one consecutive year in a call center, preferably in finance, banking, insurance, or telecommunications (non-technical support)
– Experience Preferred:
– Process improvement participation
– Banking or finance experience
– Spanish-speaking ability
– Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
– Education Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher
– Other Requirements:
– Must pass state/federal background checks, fingerprinting, and Arizona tax filing record check for past 5 years
– Must be able to transport office equipment (not via public transport)
– Hardwired internet connection required; if using 5G router, must bring on Day 1 for IT setup
– Reliable and consistent work history preferred (short stints may disqualify)
– Resume must specify current location; R2R and cover letter required
– No previous submissions to postings 5103, 5258, 5662, 7366, or 7550
