Russian forces struck an aid distribution centre and a neighbouring shelter in Komyshuvakha, a village in southern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, on Monday, 2 November 2026, killing at least 24 people, according to Ukraine’s emergency services agency.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 10 guided bombs hit an area that included a school building used for distributing humanitarian aid and a nearby shelter. “This is further proof that Russia wants no de-escalation,” he said.
The strike came as a limited ceasefire in the southern Kherson region expired on Monday. The pause, which began on 27 October, had allowed humanitarian aid and evacuation missions into front-line areas in Russian-occupied territory.
Local officials said about 20 people were considered missing and the death toll could rise. Ukrainian authorities also reported Russian drone attacks on Monday that injured 12 people in the eastern Kharkiv region and five people in the Black Sea port city of Odesa.
